Is one of Romania’s major tourist attractions for tens of thousands of people every year. The most outstanding feature of this true Romanian Riviera is the unique combination of two major natural elements- sun and sea water- with the facilities man’s work created to enjoy the nature.  

In mid summer the sun shines over 10 hours a day and makes the beaches covered with fine sand to reach 40-50⁰ C. However, due to the moderating effects of the aerosol-rich sea breeze, the average air temperature during summer is only 25⁰ C. The low salinity water of the Black Sea having about the same average temperature and featuring not any dangers such as currents or harming fishes and plants completes harmoniously the sun bathes. There are also possibilities of all year-round therapy bathes with the full natural and curing mud of some lakes situated in the sea shore’s vicinity.

The nature’s gifts of the Romania’s Black Sea side have been augmented by a magnificent network of resorts created by man’s hand: Mamaia, Eforie, Costinesti, Olimp, Neptun, Jupiter, Venus, Cap Aurora, Saturn. Not to be neglected are the largest cities in this area- Constanta and Mangalia. Here a tourist may find numerous quality accommodations, camping, dining and entertainment facilities including some with Romanian folklore specifics. Of course, various sport playgrounds, swimming pools and water sports equipment are not missing from this blessed shore.  

Close to the shore there are proofs about the presence of antique Greek and Roman civilizations on these lands such as the ruins of the Roman forts of Tomis, Histria and Enisala and the Roman monument of Adamclisi.
